ROOF ENVY
Building envelope company Lakesmere has installed two Corus Kalzip nature roofs at the new West Ham Bus Depot in London, for main contractor Mansell.
The station, in view of the Millennium Dome, has been built for the East London Bus Group, to help meet increased demand for public transport throughout London 2012 Olympics.
The facility has been designed to be as environmentally friendly as possible. In addition to the nature roofs, which will help capture and recycle rainwater, it features a wind turbine and biomass generator.
The bus station is expected to be operational by spring 2009.
